　　Looking for work, Aaron comes across a cryptic online ad: “$1,000 for the day. Filming service. Discretion is appreciated.” Low on cash and full of naiveté, he decides to go for it. He drives to a cabin in a remote mountain town, where he meets Josef, his cinematic subject for the day. Josef is sincere and the project seems heartfelt, so Aaron begins to film. But as the day goes on, it becomes clear that Josef is not who he says, and his intentions are not at all pure.

　　1951年好莱坞，一切带有左翼观点的电影都深受“麦卡锡事件”影响，被列入所谓的黑名单中，众多无辜的电影人被迫害。刚入行的电影编剧彼得·阿普尔顿（金·凯瑞 Jim Carrey饰）本是好莱坞一位才华横溢的青年剧作家，可生不逢时的他因为一次在大学时的无心之举也被政府列入黑名 单之中。然而他的噩梦并没有结束，失业失恋的彼得在一次车祸中失去了所有的记忆。当彼得被好心人救起，带到一座名叫朗森的小镇时，小镇居民都把他误认成九年前在二战中牺牲的鲁克。而鲁克的父亲哈里（马丁·兰杜饰）更是欣喜若狂。彼得修复了哈里无心经营的电影院，也让他在电影中找到了生活的激情。鲁克原来的女友阿黛尔（劳瑞·霍尔登饰）更与彼得坠入情网。当一切都向着大团圆结局发展的时候，调查员却追踪到小镇，要求彼特立刻出庭。
　　这部由著名导演弗兰克·德拉邦特执导，喜剧影星金·凯瑞主演的《电影人生》，是导演冲击奥斯卡的野心之作，然而票房口碑双双失利，却足够达到精益求精的完美水平。

　　Synopsis
　　"Falsely accused as the murderer of my own husband... Oh, the cruel machinations of fate!" A female teacher (Lee Yong-ae) gives shelter to an escaped convict, but her husband, misconstruing her intentions, reacts violently and accidentally stabs himself to death in the process. The teacher is charged with her husband&♯39;s murder, but fortunately the prosecutor on the case is a former student of hers, of whom she had taken painstaking care when she was working at an elementary school. Remembering her kindness to him, the prosecutor uncovers her innocence in court, and she is acquitted of the crime.

　　A Public Prosecutor and a Teacher is familiar to us for the performance of Shin Chool, Korea&♯39;s last silent movie narrator (known as "byeonsa"in Korean). Numerous critics have recommended the film, praising it as "a silent movie that allows us to examine the narrator-accompanied method of 16mm films" (Chung Jong-wha), "the work of Korea&♯39;s last silent movie narrator" (Kim Hong-joon), a movie that "reflects the public&♯39;s consciousness and has great historical value" (Lee Seung-hun), and "the archetypal new-school film" (Chung Sung-il). As evidenced by such commentary, A Public Prosecutor and a Teacherenjoys greater recognition for its historical value as the only surviving silent movie in Korea than for its artistic or technical aspects. What is ironic is the fact that this recognition derivesfrom a production and screening method that fell behind the times, as sound films (or "talkies") had already become the norm when the movie was first made. Its inclusion in the list is therefore based on its historical, social context rather than on the film itself.

　　奥利维埃·马夏尔被认为是法国六七十年、梅尔维尔时代黑帮片的继承者。他的《36警局》、《MR73左轮枪》虽然属于一般的商业警匪范畴，但情节有着 强烈的现实感和宿命感，显示出导演的功力。他的最新作品《里昂黑帮》日前在法国上映，影片有着成为一部法国版“教父”和“盗火线”的野心，但得到的评价较 为两级。有的观众认为影片的故事讲得很真诚，有的则计较其风格过于刻意和不够统一。奥利维埃·马夏尔本人在从影之前就是一名警察，他的前两部作品也都是讲 述警察的故事，但《里昂黑帮》将镜头对准了他们的对立面，“我并不希望美化黑帮，相反表现了他们之间所谓神圣的不可侵犯的男人情谊只不过是一种幻觉。我的 黑帮最终不是横死就是落狱，没有什么好下场。”
