　　一个男人被其未婚妻指控通奸，从而被迫搬回家与父母同居。当他为四岁女儿的监护权而战时，也逐渐卷入了父母和邻居由于一棵美丽的古树而起的争执。影片探讨了普通人之间的荒谬斗争，在其现实主义的基调下有着喜剧和惊悚元素。片中尖刻和讽刺的地方或许显得夸张，但也揭示了中产阶级背后的真相。

　　Follows a group of girlfriends from Assam and Meghalaya, north-eastern states in India, gathering in the back streets of Delhi to throw a secret wedding party for a soon-to-be bride. Terrorised by their rottweiler of a landlady and with their boyfriends utterly useless as help, the group&♯39;s already disorganized plans soon go further awry. As the women cook the traditional Axone wedding stew (a pork stew with pungent local herbs), neighbors complain about its powerful smell. However, they are determined to prepare the aromatic dish. With the challenges brought on by cultural difference and the pressures of being migrants in a seemingly unfriendly city, is food and love enough to save the day?

　　本作の主人公は、植木屋で働き、いつも雑誌の切り抜きをポケットに入れて1人で妄想している変わり者・大島杜和（とわ）。彼はコンビニで働く上尾園子に恋をし、彼女と話すために店から木の葉で道を作っておびき寄せようとする。その道をたどってきた園子もまた、廃工場で暮らして奇妙な生き物の彫刻を作っている変わり者。劇中では、周りになじめない彼らが2人だけの世界を作り、仲を深めていくさまが描かれる。

　　The film homes in on 18-year-old Alex who’s been a fan of the Arthur fantasy film series since he was a child. When his close-knit group of friends surprises him with trip to an abandoned house where the film was shot, they unwittingly walk headlong into a twisted, mortal trap. 　　"Falsely accused as the murderer of my own husband... Oh, the cruel machinations of fate!" A female teacher (Lee Yong-ae) gives shelter to an escaped convict, but her husband, misconstruing her intentions, reacts violently and accidentally stabs himself to death in the process. The teacher is charged with her husband&♯39;s murder, but fortunately the prosecutor on the case is a former student of hers, of whom she had taken painstaking care when she was working at an elementary school. Remembering her kindness to him, the prosecutor uncovers her innocence in court, and she is acquitted of the crime.

　　A Public Prosecutor and a Teacher is familiar to us for the performance of Shin Chool, Korea&♯39;s last silent movie narrator (known as "byeonsa"in Korean). Numerous critics have recommended the film, praising it as "a silent movie that allows us to examine the narrator-accompanied method of 16mm films" (Chung Jong-wha), "the work of Korea&♯39;s last silent movie narrator" (Kim Hong-joon), a movie that "reflects the public&♯39;s consciousness and has great historical value" (Lee Seung-hun), and "the archetypal new-school film" (Chung Sung-il). As evidenced by such commentary, A Public Prosecutor and a Teacherenjoys greater recognition for its historical value as the only surviving silent movie in Korea than for its artistic or technical aspects. What is ironic is the fact that this recognition derivesfrom a production and screening method that fell behind the times, as sound films (or "talkies") had already become the norm when the movie was first made. Its inclusion in the list is therefore based on its historical, social context rather than on the film itself.

　　Five carpoolers travel in a motorhome to reach a common destination. Night falls, and to avoid a dead animal carcass, they crash into a tree. When they come to their senses, they find themselves in the middle of nowhere. The road they were traveling on has disappeared and there is only a dense, impenetrable forest and a wooden house in the middle of a clearing, which they discover is the home of a spine-chilling cult.
