　　我的日本朋友对武汉有很多偏见。我是作为住在中国的外国人，作为纪录片的导演，特别想去拍武汉，想给全世界介绍真实的武汉。于是我在微博上募集了可以接受我们拍摄的武汉人，然后一百多个人报名了，最后我们选择了十个人的故事。希望通过这部作品让更多的人了解现在的武汉。——摘自导演微博

　　影片是纪录片导演 Zachary Heinzerling的首部长片。《小可爱与拳击手》讲述了来自日本的“行动派”画家Ushio Shinohara和他的妻子Noriko Shinohara四十多年的婚姻，他们常常需要不断学习和包容来自对方的种种个性和缺点。Ushio Shinohara现年已经73岁，他主要在纽约举行创作，戴着拳击手套上面包裹着海绵，蘸取墨汁在画布上作画，而他的妻子Noriko尽管一直被当成丈夫身边的助手，却也在试图实现自己存在的价值。

　　这部电影讲述了一位29岁的日本记者伊藤诗织的动人故事，她声称自己是在2015年的一次工作晚餐会上被时任东京广播公司华盛顿分社的社长、日本首相安倍晋三的传记作者山口敬之强奸。但山口先生强烈否认了这一说法。
