　　The series follows a group of strangers from different walks of life forced together to complete a community payback sentence in Bristol.

　　Former police detective Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub), whose photographic memory and amazing ability to piece together tiny clues made him a local legend, has suffered from intensified obsessive-compulsive disorder and a variety of phobias since the unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, in 1997. Now on psychiatric leave from the San Francisco Police Department and working as a freelance detective/ consultant on difficult cases, Monk hopes to convince his former boss, Captain Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine), to allow him to return to the force. Stottlemeyer, who wavered between admiration for Monk and annoyance at his eccentricities during the first season, is becoming more of a friend to Monk as the series develops, frequently calling him in to help, as much for Monk&♯39;s benefit as for his own. However, he knows Monk&♯39;s limitations as well as his strengths and may still harbor doubts about the wisdom of allowing Monk to carry a gun or subdue a perpetrator. Stottlemeyer&♯39;s second-in-command, Lieutenant Randall Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford), also seems to be developing both admiration and compassion for the man he once labeled "the defective detective."
　　Despite flaws and inadequacies all around, the three are becoming an increasingly effective team, with additional help from Monk&♯39;s personal assistant. From the double-episode pilot through the first half of season three, Monk was aided by his nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram). But in the tenth episode of the third season, Sharona was replaced by a new assistant, Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard). Like Sharona, a divorcee with a son named Benjy, Natalie is a single parent, a widow with a daughter named Julie (Emmy Clarke). Unlike Sharona, Natalie is not a nurse but a former bartender with a fresh perspective on "Mr. Monk," as she still addresses her new boss.

　　Filming has begun on the third series of popular detective drama McDonald & Dodds starring Tala Gouveia and Jason Watkins in the lead roles.
　　
　　The latest series sees Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) join the cast as Chief Superintendent Ormond.

　　Speaking about her role in the new series, Claire Skinner, said: "I&♯39;m a huge fan of McDonald & Dodds so I&♯39;m delighted to be joining the cast as Chief Superintendent Ormond. Ormond is a quietly intimidating character so she&♯39;ll be keeping McDonald & Dodds on their toes throughout this new series."

　　The series was commissioned for ITV by Polly Hill and Huw Kennair Jones and will be produced by Rebecca Davies. Executive producers are Damien Timmer and creator and lead writer Robert Murphy. Robert Murphy has written films one and four, Robert Drummond has written film two and Kam Odedra has written film three. Directors are Robert Quinn, Isher Sahota, Ian Aryeh and Sasha Ransome.
　　McDonald & Dodds is produced by leading independent production company Mammoth Screen, co-produced by BritBox North America, and created by Robert Murphy. Series two achieved consolidated ratings of 6.7m.

　　在《绝地战警2》中饰演Syd一角的演员是Gabrielle Union，剧集版将由她继续演出。她是Marcus Burnett（Martin Lawrence饰）的妹妹，亦是美国缉毒局的卧底探员。另外在片中，Sydney与Mike Lowrey（Will Smith饰）是情侣。
　　《洛城战警》里Syd成了洛杉矶警局的警探，原本可以扔下过去，享受生活的她却可能因为新拍档Nancy McKenna而令事情变得复杂。在2000-02年主演过《末世黑天使 Dark Angel》的Jessica Alba将饰演Nancy McKenna，Nancy高中后参加了陆军，在伊拉克及阿富汗待了10年之久；回国后她当上了警探，与丈夫一同抚养两个前青少年期的继子。

　　BBC与Paramount 合作的这部六集剧集取材于有着“世纪之罪”之称的Brink’s-Mat抢劫案。1983年11月26日，六名带有武器的劫匪在希思罗机场附近的Brink’s-Mat仓库，原本策划实施现金抢劫的他们，却阴差阳错发现了由庄信万丰公司持有、多达3000公斤的金条；最后，他们掠夺了价值2600万英镑的黄金、钻石和现金，并成功逃脱。
　　抢劫之后的大部分黄金都没有被追回，也仅有其中两名参与者被定罪。但这次重大的事件却造成了各种余波：曾经的庄信万丰银行陷入危机最后倒闭，伦敦码头区房地产涌入了脏钱，也流进各种国际范围的犯罪活动；至于“Brink-Mat的诅咒”也悄然而起，因为当初参与的人在后续的几十年前都最终死于枪杀。

　　BBC One的3集迷你剧《英式丑闻 A Very English Scandal》根据Jeremy Thorpe的真人真事所改篇。在60年代末英国才刚刚对同性恋除罪化，而当时作为自由党领袖，以及百年来英国政党中最年轻的领袖，Jeremy Thorpe（Hugh Grant饰）隐藏着一个秘密 – 他有一个前同性恋人 Norman Scott（Ben Whishaw饰）。
　　只要Norman Scott还活着，这对Jeremy Thorpe来说都是威胁，因此他策划谋杀前度，但最终不但不成事，还被对方指控意图谋杀。此事令Jeremy Thorpe成为首位因谋杀案而受审判的英国政治家，更被公众得知他的同志身份；最终Jeremy Thorpe虽然被判无罪，但也结束了政治生涯。
　　该剧由Stephen Frears执导﹑Russell T. Davies负责执笔。
